Day 14

  Not quite halfway through the month and I have more that half my miles ridden. But even better my friends and family have given over $1500 dollars to help fight childhood cancer. As a team "Riding is Bliss" we have raised over $6000! That is just amazing to me. I am so proud of all the riders on our team and thankful that we have such generous people in our lives.  I started my ride today in Philippe Park .  While there I found these bags of oyster shells. I think that the shells are used on the parking spaces near the shore. I also thought they would be a good backdrop to take a picture of my bike leaning on them for a Facebook group I belong to called "Look At My Bike Leaning Against Stuff" It's just as it sounds.  I started my ride today a little later because on Wednesday I volunteer at the Feast Food Pantry . The Owls Are Back!

The owls are back in our backyard park . A few weeks ago I rode back to the park to check and see if the pair of owls that nest each year there were back. I did not see any signs of their arrival. As in signs I mean signs that the city puts saying "Do Not Disturb the Owls!" But I know that they should be arriving soon. Well yesterday Jan got a call from her sister Patty saying that she had driven back there and the owls were back. So while our soup was heating up Jan and I took a walk back there to check it our for ourselves. Who? They were there, the mama and daddy owls were there with a baby. I wanted to get a picture to send my friend Donna. She had asked me to alert her when the owls arrived. So that was our mission, photographic proof of the owls arrival.
