Well that all went sideways first day at the hotel. Art who is 96 started feeling poorly and eventually it was decided to call an ambulance to transport him to the emergency room for, as my daughter calls it a little heart tune-up. It was quite an adventure having a firetruck and ambulance arrive at our hotel and all crowd into our room.
At the hospital because of Covid only one other person was allowed in and it was decided that Jan would stay and I would head back to Mary's house. Now a funny story of events before the ambulance arrived. I had gone to take a rest in our hotel room while Jane talked to Arts doctor and decided what to do. At some point she tried to call me on my phone several times. I did not answer. She then left several rather shart voice messages and maybe a text or two. I still did not respond. Jan finally having enough of my slacking off stormed down to our room to demand to know why I was not responding to her calls. I was lying in bed peacefully watching some nature show.
I said that I had not heard her calls. I looked for my phone to prove that the ringer was on. I could not find it. Hummmm. I must have left it in the other room. We went to the other room to look. Still could not find it. I calmly asked Jan to call my phone so I could listen for the ring. She calls, we hear the ring. But cannot pinpoint the location in the room. It is as if the phone is moving around. Hummm. Then Jan turns to look under the bed and I find it......in her back pocket. Jan then states that she kept hearing ringing but neither she nor Art could figure out where it was coming from.
I still got in a little trouble because, well, I should not have let that happen.
It has been nice to be up here in southern Indiana in the fall. The weather has been pleasant, not to hot and not too cold. The leaves are changing. That I something that I don't recall ever seeing happen. I have seen bare trees in the winter. But I haven't traveled out of Florida at this time of year to see the trees actually changing.Art is doing much better after his time in the shop getting a tune-up. He is back at Mary's watching football and Zooming with family and friends. It really is amazing the improvement in the way he is moving around and just his general well being. I guess a little TLC goes a long way.
Friday we celebrated what would have been Jan's mom's 95th birthday. We had a cake and sang "Happy Birthday" It was very nice.
It has been a good trip and I'm glad we came to visit. We will be leaving in a few days to have about a week at home before we turn around and head to Blueridge Georgia to have a Thanksgiving get together with Jessica, Jared, Noah, Austin, Morgan and Roo. This should be fun.
We’re so glad Art is feeling better and that takes a load off y’all’s anxiety to know, too!
ReplyDeleteI ESPECIALLY loved the phone being in Jan’s back pocket! Bahahahaha! At least you got a chance to relax!! (teeheehee!)
Hugs to all!!
Yea, Seeing that rectangular bulge in her in her back pocket and knowing her phone was in her hand gave me a sigh of relief. What every guy wants to know "It's not my fault!"
DeleteArt looks great! Glad the “tune up” worked 😁 amazing how a beating heart and regular rhythm 🎶 can really give you that get up and go feeling 🤪, safe travels home, hopefully ETA will have blown away by the time you get to FL
ReplyDeleteGive Jan, Mary and Art my love, love you too Chan!
